Dr. Kristen Bender will provide emergency eyke exams for our patients who have suffered an injury to their eye or have contracted an infection or other issues. Avoiding permanent damage is often contingent on getting emergency eye care as soon as possible after the accident or injury.
Contact our office as soon as possible when you have a problem and we will see you as soon as possible to ascertain the severity and nature of the problem. Only by getting into the office quickly can Dr. Bender determine the best course of action and provide the appropriate treatment.
Some of the problems that can be encountered that may require emergency treatment are:
Swelling of the eye
Pain in the eye
Flashes of light
Bleeding in the eye (Subconjunctival Hemorrhages)
Inflammation of the colored part of the eye (Traumatic Iritis)
Bleedling in the anterior chamber of the eye (Hyphemas and Orbital Blowout Fractures)
If there is an extreme injury to the eye a trip to the emergency room may be in order. In serious situations surgery may be required. In any case, it is important to treat any injury to the eye as a potential emergency. Do not take chances with your eyesight.
